Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Deckman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarred Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Deckman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcus Deckman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jarred Smith! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith has Deckman up against the cage in a clinch.
Smith tightens his grip and picks Deckman up, before dumping him to the ground. Deckman manages to land in guard. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Deckman is retaining full guard. Smith passes easily into side control. Nice work. Smith trying to control the position but Deckman is working away. Deckman sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Deckman tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Smith manages to move to mount!
Smith avoids the attempt from Deckman to control. Deckman is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Deckman tries to clinch up and Smith decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Deckman's guard. Smith trying to control but Deckman is working from the bottom. Deckman can't keep his opponent in guard - Smith advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Deckman is looking to control Smith's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Deckman avoid being mounted? Deckman controlling the position well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deckman tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg. Deckman pushes Smith off looking to stand but Smith dives back in and keeps control.
Smith looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Smith sitting and controlling from the half guard. Deckman is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is taking a breather. Deckman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Smith is trying to control the action in half guard but Deckman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Deckman trying to control but Smith postures up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Deckman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat. Smith closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith lands in his opponent's guard. Smith controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Deckman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Deckman looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Smith trying to control but Deckman is working from the bottom. Smith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Smith trying to control but Deckman is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jarred Smith dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Deckman shoots and misses and Smith counters with a shoot takedown. Deckman fights it but they end up in guard. Deckman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Smith works a leg free and moves into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Deckman! Smith controlling from the full mount. Deckman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Smith lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith won't let Deckman get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Deckman tries to reverse the position but Smith maintains control. Smith controlling his opponent. Smith looking to control but Deckman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Deckman wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Deckman breaks Smith's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.
Smith trying to control but Deckman is working from the bottom. Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Despite being in the dominant position, Jarred Smith just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smith shoots in for a double leg but Deckman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Marcus Deckman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deckman with a lazy takedown attempt and Smith counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Smith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Deckman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Smith escapes and gets back to his feet. Deckman doesn't succeed with the takedown and Smith counters with a single leg into guard. Deckman didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Deckman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Deckman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Deckman kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Smith looking to pass the guard. Smith won't allow Deckman to sweep him here. Smith stands and throws Deckman's legs to the side, diving into side control. Smith passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Deckman! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jarred Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Deckman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Deckman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat. Deckman with a poor takedown so Smith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Smith gets to his feet - Deckman follows without any prompting. Deckman misses with a takedown attempt and Smith counters with a single leg into guard. Deckman didn't expect that. Smith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Smith showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Smith stands up and waves to Deckman to follow him. Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. This has been an exciting period of action! Deckman tries for a takedown but Smith circles away easily and Smith moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Deckman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Deckman.
Deckman stalling in the clinch but Smith improves position. Deckman breaks from the clinch.
Deckman with a poor takedown and Smith counters with a takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Deckman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Deckman regains half guard. Smith escapes and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A combination from Deckman does no damage. Deckman tries to clinch and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Smith controlling the action here. Smith works his way into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Deckman is trying to escape the position but Smith is controlling the position. Smith looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Smith has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith moves into the clinch. Deckman fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Deckman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smith is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Deckman looking to stall.
Deckman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Deckman as he avoids it easily. Deckman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Deckman! Jarred Smith has got the better of the ground game so far. Smith prevents Deckman from getting the reversal. Smith controlling from mount. Smith landing strikes, looking to finish! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith content just to control the position here. Deckman squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
And that's the end of the fight! Jarred Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Smith winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
