Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paavali Pietari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pietari has chosen The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mickey Carlson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paavali Pietari!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlson fails with a takedown attempt.
Pietari ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Carlson is breathing heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pietari shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Carlson defends it nicely.

Mickey Carlson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paavali Pietari.

Carlson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Pietari fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pietari is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Carlson is keen to just control but Pietari is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Carlson shoots in and drives through. Pietari sprawls well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Pietari preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Pietari is trying to maintain the position but Carlson is very close to passing his half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Carlson is working for a submission of some sort.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Paavali Pietari.
I think Pietari has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
