Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barry Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Shields!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen is looking to clinch.
A combination from Shields does no damage.
Allen tries to clinch up but Shields circles away and keeps his distance.
Shields avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Barry Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Allen fails in his attempt to clinch.
Shields swats away the attempt to clinch by Allen.
Shields stuffs the takedown.
Allen is looking to clinch.
Allen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Shields tries to bum rush Allen with a series of wild strikes but Allen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Shields shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Allen pinned against the cage. Allen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Shields drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Shields thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Allen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
An elbow from Shields crashes against the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Allen is looking for a sweep.
Allen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shields on the ground.

Shields wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Allen, who protects the arm well.

Shields tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shields has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Shields tries to move to mount but Allen blocks the move with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shields has hold of Allen's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Allen seems comfortable defending it but Shields has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Allen is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Allen is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Shields couldn't care less - he's delighted!
