Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Honcho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Vasiliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Honcho kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Beastie Boys- Sabotage. The crowd seem to be enjoying Vasiliev's choice of entrance music: Hate me now. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oleg Vasiliev!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honcho explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Mike Honcho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vasiliev shoots for a double leg takedown but Honcho sprawls well. He's pushed Vasiliev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nice body kick from Honcho.
Vasiliev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Honcho swivels and escapes.
Vasiliev takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Oleg Vasiliev has been cut.
No luck for Vasiliev with that takedown attempt.
Mike Honcho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Vasiliev.
A combination from Honcho does no damage.
Honcho throws a nice outside leg kick.
Vasiliev looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Honcho lands a left and a right that send Vasiliev crashing to the mat, dazed. Honcho thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Honcho tries to bum rush Vasiliev with a series of wild strikes but Vasiliev uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Honcho scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Vasiliev is rocked!
That has opened up Oleg Vasiliev's cut even more.
Honcho throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A left lands for Honcho.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vasiliev has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Honcho.
Honcho scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Vasiliev is still on wobbly legs! Can Honcho finish him?
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Honcho has cracked Vasiliev with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Honcho lands another huge swinging hook and Vasiliev tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Vasiliev, before Honcho can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mike Honcho!
