3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gustavo Padilha! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Volk Han! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Padilha fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Padilha fails in his attempt to clinch. Padilha is looking to clinch but Han is avoiding it.
Padilha shoots in looking for a takedown. Han tries to sprawl out of it but Padilha keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Han manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Padilha pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Padilha wants to clinch. No luck with that takedown attempt from Padilha. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gustavo Padilha. That's going to take a lot out of him. Han drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Han scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Han thows a huge punch but Padilha dodges it nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Han drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Padilha manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Han has Padilha in his guard. Padilha missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Han is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Han can do anything to dispel that myth. Padilha is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Padilha drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Padilha jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Padilha takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Padilha is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Padilha fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Han tries to lock up and control but Padilha gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Padilha looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Padilha! Padilha is working Han over with some ground and pound from side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Padilha fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Padilha shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Padilha prevents Han from improving his position. Padilha seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Han does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Han is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Padilha throws a push kick but Han slaps the foot to one side. Gustavo Padilha is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Han circles away from the clinch attempt.
Padilha closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Padilha lands in his opponent's guard. Han is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Padilha defends well.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gustavo Padilha. I think Padilha has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
