Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Gotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mustang James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rafael Gotti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mustang James!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James has Gotti up against the ropes in a clinch.

James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Gotti closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

James looking for submissions off his back.

James is trying to stand up here but Gotti is controlling him well.
James wants to improve his position but Gotti is controlling well.

James is defending against the submission attempts here by Gotti.

Gotti seems to be working for a kimura but James defends the submission attempt.

James gets full guard.
Gotti postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gotti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gotti drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but James manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gotti has James in his guard.

Gotti has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though.
James works over Gotti with some ground and pound from guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
James is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Gotti working for a triangle but James defends it easily.
Gotti is breathing heavily.
James won't allow Gotti to sweep him here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gotti keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
Gotti avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
James is looking to work some ground and pound but Gotti has wrist control.
James wants to control from the top but Gotti keeps moving.
James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gotti. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
James wants to pass the guard but Gotti is keeping the position.
James stands up over Gotti, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
James is looking to clinch.
Gotti will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

James throws a head kick that half lands.
James fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gotti moves out of range of the body kick from James.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gotti swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Gotti closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
James is trying to control Gotti's posture but Gotti avoids it.
James is trying to get back to his feet.

Gotti tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gotti has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
James is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

James is looking to regain half guard here but Gotti keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
James is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Gotti trying to control the action but James is working from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on James's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
James wants to clinch up but Gotti keeps it at a distance.
Gotti looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? James is fending him off so far but Gotti persists. Nope, James circles away and we're back to standing.
James tries to clinch but Gotti is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rafael Gotti will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Gotti shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in James's guard.
Gotti stands and throws James's legs to the side, diving into side control.
James is looking for a sweep.
Gotti trying to control the action but James is working from the bottom.
James regains half guard there - taking advantage of Gotti's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Gotti is looking for a kimura here.
James gets back to full guard.

Gotti won't allow James to sweep him here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
James not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
James is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Gotti wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position.
James is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
James wants to stand but Gotti is controlling the position.

Gotti postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! James is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gotti, into his guard.
James must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
James has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gotti is proving hard to escape from.
James trying to control but Gotti is working from the bottom.
Gotti looking for a sweep. Not yet Gotti, not yet.
Gotti has a closed guard, preventing James from standing up.
James stands up over Gotti, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Gotti might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gotti is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and James defends well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gotti swivels though and keeps the full guard.
James would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Gotti is looking to sinch up a triangle. James throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gotti's body to avoid the submission. Gotti has instead reached around James's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gotti arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Rafael Gotti!
