Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Rutledge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cote might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Drake-City Is Mine. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Cote! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rocky Rutledge! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rutledge shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Cote fails with the takedown and Rutledge decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cote's guard. Rutledge must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cote bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rutledge's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rutledge is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cote seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Cote drops back looking for a leg! Rutledge is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rutledge manages to kick Cote off! Cote jumps back into Rutledge's guard. Cote pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rutledge is keeping the position for now. Rutledge wants to get back to his feet but Cote is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Cote drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cote jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rutledge wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cote manages to pass to side control. Cote looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Cote is breathing heavily.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cote doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rutledge counters with a nice double leg into guard. Rutledge stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cote swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rutledge decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Rutledge throws a nice looking combination but Cote bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Cote on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rutledge. Rutledge obviously looking to wear him down.
Rutledge throws a body kick that misses. Rutledge throws a series of strikes that have Cote backpedaling.
Cote doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rutledge counters with a nice kick to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Cote. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rutledge shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rutledge showed some decent athleticism there. Cote regains full guard. Nicely done. Cote is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rutledge rolls with it to try and escape but Cote cranks on the arm and Rutledge is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
