Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boyd Rumbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hades Death (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boyd Rumbo could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hades Death's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Boyd Rumbo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hades Death! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Death is defended easily by Rumbo. Rumbo shoots in but Death avoids the takedown attempt easily. Death misses the jab. Death with a poor takedown and Rumbo counters with a one-two to the body. Death with a lazy takedown attempt and Rumbo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Death! Boyd Rumbo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hades Death. Death is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Rumbo jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Death manages to avoid the submission attempt. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Death can do anything to dispel that myth. Rumbo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Death down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Death wants to get back to his feet. Death looks gassed! Rumbo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Death, who protects the arm well. Death is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rumbo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Death knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Rumbo lands an elbow. Death wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Rumbo working the head and body with strikes. Death is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rumbo is controlling him well. Rumbo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Death! Rumbo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Death can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Rumbo looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Death wants to try and get back to his feet. Rumbo landing strikes from the mount and Death is in trouble! Rumbo tries to control but Death wriggling away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rumbo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Death is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Rumbo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Rumbo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Rumbo cracks Death with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Death is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Rumbo wants to finish this one by submission but Death is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rumbo. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rumbo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rumbo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Death wants to get back to his feet.
Death is squirming around, avoiding Rumbo's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boyd Rumbo dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rumbo pushes Death up against the cage in a clinch. Rumbo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Death.
Death can't get the takedown.
Death drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rumbo pulls his leg out and moves away.
Boyd Rumbo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hades Death. Rumbo shoots in for a takedown but Death shows good takedown defense. Death with a poor takedown and Rumbo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rumbo. Death can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rumbo controls the pace. Rumbo wants to control from the top but Death keeps moving. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rumbo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rumbo works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Rumbo is trying to control. Death wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rumbo is figuring out what he wants to do next. Rumbo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Death is just riding it out for now. Rumbo eventually gives up the hold. Death keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rumbo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Death avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rumbo. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Death looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rumbo wants to work for an arm triangle but Death is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rumbo slips a nice elbow through Death's hands, connecting with Death's forehead. Death pushes Rumbo off and gets back to his feet. Rumbo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Death was covering up waiting for the punch and Rumbo finishes the takedown easily into guard. Boyd Rumbo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rumbo stops Death from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rumbo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rumbo prevents Death from getting back to his feet. Death pushes Rumbo off and gets back to his feet.
Good exchange - Death coming out on top. Rumbo misses with a series of wild punches.

and Rumbo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Death's guard now. Death is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rumbo chips away with some ground and pound. Rumbo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rumbo drops back looking for a leg! Death is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Death manages to kick Rumbo off! Rumbo jumps back into Death's guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rumbo takes one to the side of the head.
Death stuffs the takedown attempt from Rumbo. Rumbo gets slowly back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Death misses with a takedown and Rumbo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Rumbo won't allow Death to get back to his feet. Rumbo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Death is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rumbo is controlling him. Death is looking to stand back up but Rumbo counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Death. Rumbo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Death is just riding it out for now. Rumbo eventually gives up the hold. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Death pushes Rumbo off looking to stand but Rumbo dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rumbo has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Death defend it? Rumbo steps over the head and cranks it - Death is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Rumbo!
