The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Escobedo misses with a series of wild punches.
Stooler avoids the head kick by Escobedo.
Escobedo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. A nice combination there by Escobedo.

The fight stays on the outside here - Stooler looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Escobedo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Come on Escobedo - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Stooler has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Escobedo clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Escobedo wants to control his opponent's hands but Stooler gets his hands free.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Escobedo looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Escobedo defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

Escobedo tries to escape but Stooler has the hooks in and won't let him break free. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Stooler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Escobedo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Stooler takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Escobedo lands with a good body shot. Escobedo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Escobedo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Escobedo trying to control from half guard but Stooler is working away. Escobedo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stooler's head. Stooler keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Escobedo tries to stand and escape but Stooler is controlling the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stooler gets a takedown into half guard. Escobedo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stooler is working away from the top position though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alejandro Escobedo will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Escobedo looks to score with a jab to the body but Stooler is just out of range. Escobedo lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Escobedo. A chopping leg kick lands by Escobedo. Escobedo tries to clinch up but Stooler circles away and keeps his distance. Escobedo throws a leg kick which misses Stooler's front leg but catches the back leg as Stooler tries to avoid it. Stooler has a takedown stuffed. A slapping leg kick lands for Escobedo.
A left lands for Escobedo. Stooler misses with a takedown attempt - Escobedo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Escobedo's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Escobedo duly obliges. Stooler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Escobedo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Escobedo misses with a two punch combination.

Escobedo lands with a nice body punch. A combination from Escobedo does no damage. Escobedo throws a nice inside leg kick. Stooler chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Escobedo can pounce on him.
Stooler walks forward, straight into a front kick from Escobedo. Escobedo scores with a one two! Stooler had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Escobedo fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A nice inside leg kick there by Escobedo. That's going to slow Stooler down. Escobedo plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! A head kick from Escobedo lands but Stooler takes it in his stride. Escobedo stuns Stooler with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Stooler fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Escobedo sprawls well initially but Stooler persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Stooler trying to pass the guard but Escobedo defending well. Escobedo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Escobedo keeping moving, preventing Stooler from controlling successfully. Escobedo looking to control.
Alejandro Escobedo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Escobedo looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Stooler puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Stooler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Escobedo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Escobedo tries to get to full guard but Stooler has control of the leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Escobedo misses with a double jab.
Stooler shoots in looking for a takedown. Escobedo tries to sprawl out of it but Stooler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Escobedo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Alejandro Escobedo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Stooler. Nice straight punches there by Escobedo. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Escobedo. Jack Stooler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Escobedo thuds a left hand into Stooler's body. Escobedo fails with a takedown attempt. Escobedo throws a right and a left that both miss. Stooler avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Alejandro Escobedo is winning the standup battle so far. Escobedo clobbers Stooler with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Stooler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Stooler pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Alejandro Escobedo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Escobedo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stooler, pushing him back against the cage. Stooler misses with a shot to the kidneys.
And that's the end of the fight! Alejandro Escobedo showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Escobedo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
