Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Crixus Silvo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kananga Vasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasco has chosen Whiskey in the Jar as his entrance music. Kananga Vasco has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kananga Vasco!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasco swats away the attempt to clinch by Silvo.

Vasco leaves Silvo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vasco fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silvo sprawls well initially but Vasco persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Vasco is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Silvo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Vasco's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Vasco's back!

Silvo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Silvo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vasco swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Silvo wants to stand but Vasco has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Vasco feints and as Silvo raises his hands in defense, Vasco changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Vasco is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Vasco drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silvo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silvo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silvo!

Silvo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Vasco is breathing heavily.

Silvo with the ground and pound but Vasco regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Silvo is just content to waste time from the top position. Vasco takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silvo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silvo wants to control from the top but Vasco keeps moving.

Silvo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silvo doesn't manage to clinch there - Vasco circles away.

Vasco is looking for a kimura but Silvo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vasco to get the leverage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silvo lands a two punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kananga Vasco showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Vasco has control of Silvo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Silvo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Vasco has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Silvo is forced to tap!
