Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Brutus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tek O Brian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Brian is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Type O Negative - Black No. 1. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Brutus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tek O Brian!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Brian shoots in but Brutus avoids the takedown attempt easily.
O Brian throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tek O Brian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brutus drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
O Brian misses with a strike from the bottom.

O Brian can't do much from the bottom here.
Brutus lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear O Brian down.

Brutus cracks O Brian with a big right hand but O Brian just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

O Brian seems a little lost for a moment, as Brutus dominates the positioning.

Brutus decides to stand up, so the ref orders O Brian to his feet.
The fighters circling - O Brian throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
O Brian doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Brutus counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brutus works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Brutus passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for O Brian!

Brutus swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and O Brian is now in Brutus's guard. A big mistake from Brutus there, giving up the dominant position!
Brutus has his foot on O Brian's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. O Brian works his way back into a safe position though.
Brutus manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Brutus tries to control but O Brian wriggling away.

O Brian sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Brutus lands a nice short elbow.
O Brian gets full guard.
O Brian trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Brutus sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed O Brian's guard.

O Brian misses with a takedown attempt
and Brutus counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Marcus Brutus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tek O Brian.
Brutus decides to stand up.
Brutus is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brutus closes the distance and clinches up with O Brian, looking for a takedown. Brutus pushes O Brian against the cage but O Brian circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
O Brian throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
O Brian throws a combination that misses
and Brutus counters with a shoot takedown. O Brian fights it but they end up in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Tek O Brian's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
O Brian throws a series of punches but Brutus avoids them all with ease.
Brutus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
O Brian shoots and misses
and Brutus counters with a nice double leg into side control. O Brian won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on O Brian's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Brutus takes advantage of some sloppy striking from O Brian to pass into mount.

Brutus is going oldschool here, as he tries to force O Brian to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so O Brian shrugs it off.
Brutus tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
O Brian is working to get back to half guard.

Brutus is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. O Brian can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
