Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Larsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hayden Prodegy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayden Prodegy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Larsen ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hayden Prodegy! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Larsen drives through with a takedown into guard. Larsen preventing the sweep. Prodegy should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Prodegy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Prodegy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Prodegy looking for a guillotine here but Larsen defends easily.
Larsen wants to pass the guard but Prodegy is keeping the position. Larsen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Larsen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Prodegy on the ground. Larsen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Prodegy is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prodegy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Larsen tries to free his leg and advance position but Prodegy is retaining full guard. Larsen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Prodegy's head. Prodegy pushes Larsen off and scrambles back to his feet.
Larsen throws a front kick aimed at Prodegy's knee but Prodegy avoids it well. Larsen throws a big shot that misses. Larsen misses with a takedown attempt - Prodegy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Larsen fails to land the takedown. Larsen takes a swing at Prodegy's ribcage but misses. Larsen shoots in and drives through. Prodegy sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Larsen . That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No joy there for Prodegy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Prodegy misses the jab. Larsen shoots for a takedown but Prodegy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Prodegy keeps the fight on the outside. Prodegy fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Larsen is out of range. Larsen misses with a takedown attempt - Prodegy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Larsen scores a takedown into full mount! Prodegy wants to hold on but Larsen pushes him away. Prodegy working to try and regain half guard.
Prodegy looks gassed! Prodegy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Larsen raining down shots from the mount! Larsen wants to control the pace but Prodegy is squirming around nicely. Prodegy wants to get back to his feet.
Prodegy is looking to get to half guard. Prodegy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Larsen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Prodegy looks a forlorn figure.

Larsen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Prodegy tries to hold on but Larsen postures up. Larsen breaks from Prodegy's wrist control and lands an elbow. Prodegy working to try and regain half guard.
Larsen looking to control but Prodegy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Larsen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Prodegy's face.

Larsen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Prodegy is fending him off so far but Larsen persists. Nope, Prodegy circles away and we're back to standing.
It looks like Hayden Prodegy has been cut. Larsen has a takedown stuffed. Prodegy stuffs the takedown attempt from Larsen . Larsen gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Larsen . That's going to take a lot out of him. Larsen misses with a takedown attempt - Prodegy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Larsen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Prodegy's waist but Prodegy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Larsen off to one side. Prodegy circles away from the clinch attempt.

Larsen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Prodegy wants to get back to full guard. Prodegy makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Prodegy attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Prodegy is breathing heavily. Prodegy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Larsen wants to clinch but Prodegy slips to the side and Prodegy counters with a takedown into side control. Larsen tries to improve position but can't. Prodegy passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Larsen !

Prodegy trying to control but he's not successful this time. Prodegy breaks from Larsen 's wrist control and lands an elbow. Prodegy looking to control but Larsen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Prodegy landing punches. Prodegy works his way to his opponent's back.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Prodegy. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Prodegy working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Larsen is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Prodegy gets his way!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Prodegy is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Larsen defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. You can see the frustration on Larsen 's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Prodegy lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Prodegy.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Prodegy is trying to stick to Larsen 's back but Larsen is turning into Prodegy. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Prodegy's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Larsen . Prodegy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Larsen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Larsen postures up and lands a big shot to Prodegy's brow. Prodegy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Prodegy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Larsen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Larsen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Prodegy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Larsen !
That's four minutes gone in the round. Larsen takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Larsen tries to hold on but Prodegy pushes him away. Prodegy is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Larsen is surviving well by controlling Prodegy's body position as best he can. Hayden Prodegy has got the better of the ground game so far. Prodegy lands a nice shot to the head. Prodegy wants to control the pace but Larsen is squirming around nicely. Larsen is trying to reverse the position but instead Prodegy has taken his back - oops! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Larsen trying to control the action but Prodegy just sinks the hooks in. Prodegy scores with punches from the back.

Hayden Prodegy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Hayden Prodegy's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Larsen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Larsen ducks under a wild hook from Prodegy. Excellent takedown into side control there by Prodegy. Larsen striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Prodegy has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Prodegy throws a head kick that misses. A jab from Larsen misses. Prodegy throws a chopping leg kick but Larsen manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Larsen slips under a jab. Larsen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Larsen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That has opened up Hayden Prodegy's cut even more. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Prodegy flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Prodegy is still in real trouble! Can Larsen finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Prodegy wants to hold on but Larsen pushes him away. Prodegy seems to have recovered his senses. Prodegy can't escape the position.
Prodegy gets back to half guard. Prodegy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Larsen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Prodegy thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Prodegy had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Larsen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Prodegy Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Larsen 's back instead. Larsen showing good submission defense here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Prodegy wants to control but Larsen is keeping busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Prodegy is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Larsen knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Larsen for a finish. Prodegy is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Larsen defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Larsen rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Prodegy wants to work for an arm triangle but Larsen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Prodegy wants to pass the guard but Larsen is defending well.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Prodegy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Prodegy manages to pull guard.

Larsen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Prodegy is on top in guard.
Prodegy gets to his feet - Larsen follows without any prompting. Larsen has a takedown stuffed. Prodegy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Larsen manages to avoid it. Larsen tries to clinch there but Prodegy circles away.
Prodegy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
And that's the end of the fight! Hayden Prodegy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Prodegy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
