Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutten wants to clinch.
obrien tries to clinch but Rutten moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Rutten. No joy for obrien on that attempt.
Rutten instigates a clinch.
Rutten lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

obrien uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rutten.

Rutten instigates a clinch.
Rutten lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Rutten is looking to take a break and control but obrien is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
obrien has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rutten is working away from the top position though.
Rutten wants to stand up but obrien is controlling the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
obrien tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rutten counters with an outside leg kick.
obrien pulls out of a head kick attempt.
obrien misses with a takedown
and Rutten holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rutten is fighting off a takedown attempt but obrien is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rutten to the mat. Rutten regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Rutten pushes obrien off and gets back to his feet.
obrien circles away from the clinch attempt
and obrien counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rutten!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rutten is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
obrien wants to stand but obrien is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
obrien throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
obrien looking for a guillotine from mount but Rutten is having none of it.

obrien trying to control but he's not successful this time.
obrien jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rutten manages to avoid the submission attempt.
obrien trying to control the position but Rutten is working away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
obrien has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Rutten!
obrien lands a nice shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Rutten dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
obrien decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
obrien stops Rutten from getting back to his feet.
obrien stalling away here and it's allowed Rutten to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Rutten is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

obrien gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

obrien misses with a takedown attempt - Rutten sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
obrien fails to land the takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
obrien scores with a head kick.
obrien closes the distance and clinches.
Rutten lands a knee to the head.
Rutten lands an elbow just above obrien 's eye.
Rutten unloads a knee to the mid-section. obrien lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

obrien takes a knee right on the jaw!
obrien throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rutten blocks it with crossed arms.
obrien takes an elbow to the temple.

Rutten comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Conan obrien has been cut.
Rutten lands a huge knee in the clinch and it's knocked obrien out! Massive knee - he's celebrating with his corner and the crowd showing their appreciation!
