PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Meatball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Golkar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meatball comes into the arena with Spider ain't no sunshine blaring out of the sound system. Vincent Golkar is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Meatball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vincent Golkar!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meatball rushes Golkar and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Meatball gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Golkar.
Golkar drops down looking for an ankle pick but Meatball pulls his leg out and moves away.
Golkar is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Meatball.
Golkar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Meatball is fending him off so far but Golkar persists. Nope, Meatball circles away and we're back to standing.
Michael Meatball has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vincent Golkar.

Golkar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Meatball's guard.

Golkar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Meatball has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Golkar has managed to get both his arms back between Meatball's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meatball is working hard here to advance position.
Golkar avoids the attempt from Meatball to control.

Golkar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Golkar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Golkar looks for a takedown but Meatball sprawls well.

Meatball shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Golkar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Meatball is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Meatball has Golkar pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Golkar manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Golkar is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Meatball pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Meatball has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Golkar avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
