Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juha Tappio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tappio comes to the cage accompanied by Kari Tapio - Juna kulkee vaan. The key to victory for Juha Tappio has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juha Tappio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Daniels! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tappio fails with the takedown. Daniels gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tappio showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Daniels keeping moving, preventing Tappio from controlling successfully. Daniels is adopting a defensive guard. Tappio trying to control but Daniels is working from the bottom. Daniels looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tappio loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Tappio throws and elbow that misses. Daniels uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tappio's guard. Nice move by Daniels! Daniels postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Daniels wants to control from the top but Tappio keeps moving. Tappio bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Daniels's guard. Tappio trying to control but Daniels is working from the bottom. Daniels pulls Tappio in close to his closed guard and prevents Tappio from doing any damage or advancing position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Daniels is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tappio looking to hit a scissor sweep but Daniels is one step ahead there. Daniels thows a big elbow that misses. Daniels content to stall in guard here. Daniels preventing the sweep. Tappio utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tappio has Daniels pulled in close to control his posture. Tappio looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Daniels wants to control from the top but Tappio keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tappio darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Tappio thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tappio thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Daniels's head. Tappio looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Daniels with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Daniels trying to control but Tappio postures up.
Tappio lands strikes from half guard. Tappio missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Tappio is looking to take a break and control but Daniels is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Still in half guard, Tappio seems content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Daniels is staying active underneath Tappio, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Tappio missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Daniels is trying to escape back to his feet but Tappio uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Daniels takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The ground and pound from Tappio seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Daniels can't do much from the bottom here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Daniels can do anything to dispel that myth. Tappio tries to score with some ground and pound. Daniels controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Tappio landing strikes. Tappio trying to control the position but Daniels is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tappio thows a body shot but no joy. Tappio shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Daniels defends it nicely. Daniels fails with the takedown and Tappio counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Tappio trying to control but Daniels is working from the bottom. Tappio is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Daniels is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Tappio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Daniels swivels though and keeps the full guard. Daniels keeping moving, preventing Tappio from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tappio trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Tappio forces his way into half guard. Daniels is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Daniels throws a head kick that misses. Tappio misses with a takedown and Daniels counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Tappio tries to get to full guard but Daniels has control of the leg. Tappio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tappio is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Daniels's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Daniels's back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tappio lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Daniels.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tappio lands shots from the back. Tappio lands a shot to the head. Good control from Tappio. Juha Tappio overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tappio lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Daniels.

That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Daniels's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Daniels covering up well under a series of strikes from Tappio. Tappio has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Daniels. Tappio is not going to allow Daniels to sit and survive in this position. Tappio controls the action. Tappio doesn't have the hooks in and Daniels manages to turn into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Daniels loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Tappio looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tappio is working hard here to advance position. Daniels throws a big right hand that misses. Daniels being controlled here momentarily. Daniels must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice takedown defense from Tappio. No joy for Daniels on that attempt. Juha Tappio is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Daniels tries to clinch up but Tappio circles away and keeps his distance. Daniels changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tappio looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Tappio keeping his opponent close. Tappio gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Tappio is trying to maintain the position but Daniels is very close to passing his half guard. Tappio is staying active underneath Daniels, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Daniels is thwarting Tappio's attempts to control the position. Daniels is keen to just control but Tappio is a slippery customer. Tappio is doing well to control the position and prevent Daniels from advancing to side control. Daniels not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Daniels trying to control but Tappio is working from the bottom. Daniels takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Daniels shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Daniels showed some decent athleticism there. Tappio trying to control here.
Tappio is pressing down on Daniels's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Daniels being controlled here momentarily. Tappio's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Tappio trying to keep a closed guard but Daniels is proving a slippery customer.

Daniels is squirming around, avoiding Tappio's attempts to control the action. Tappio working away from the top, dropping strikes. Tappio throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Tappio thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Tappio with shots to the head and body - Daniels looks very uncomfortable down there. Tappio wants to control the pace but Daniels is squirming around nicely. BOOM! Tappio connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Tappio prevents Daniels from getting the reversal. Tappio lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Tappio scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Daniels is still in real trouble! Can Tappio finish him? Daniels blocking the ground and pound. Daniels seems to have recovered his senses. Tappio with the ground and pound from mount. Daniels avoids a series of strikes thrown by Tappio.

Jack Daniels has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Juha Tappio is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Tappio lands a nice shot to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Juha Tappio showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tappio, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
