PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hanibal Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Striker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Striker comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Adrenaline- 12 Stones kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Zach Striker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hanibal Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zach Striker!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Striker's guard.
Kane controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kane might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kane postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Striker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kane knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Striker on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Striker is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kane is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Striker knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kane feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kane in particular looking to stall.

Striker is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kane's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kane's back!

Striker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kane is looking to escape.
Striker is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Kane wants to hold on but Striker pushes him away.

Striker has control of Kane's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kane regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Striker goes for an armbar but Kane turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kane.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Kane has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
