Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Del Soto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pat Steele! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steele doesn't manage to clinch there - Del Soto circles away.
Steele stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Steele wants it to stay on the feet. Del Soto closes the distance and clinches up with Steele, looking for a takedown. Del Soto pushes Steele against the cage but Steele circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Del Soto shoots in for a double leg but Steele sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miguel Del Soto. That's going to take a lot out of him. Del Soto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steele pinned against the cage. Steele gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Del Soto shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Steele is trying to defend but Del Soto finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Del Soto prevents Steele from improving his position. Steele is trying to stand.

Steele tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Del Soto wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Del Soto wants to control but Steele is keeping him busy. Del Soto looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Steele is avoiding damage well.
Del Soto stands up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Del Soto is defended easily by Steele. Nice takedown defense from Steele. No joy for Del Soto on that attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Del Soto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steele's waist but Steele gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Del Soto off to one side. Del Soto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steele circles away. Del Soto misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Steele tries to clinch there but Del Soto circles away.
Steele doesn't succeed with the takedown and Del Soto counters with a nice double leg into side control. Steele won't be happy with that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steele sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Del Soto is keen to just control but Steele is a slippery customer. Del Soto is breathing heavily. Steele is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Del Soto's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Del Soto's back! Steele tightening his grip on Del Soto, looking for the choke. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Del Soto defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Steele's arms.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele is looking for the choke from the back position but Del Soto is controlling his hands well. Steele avoiding Del Soto 's attempts to control his hands. Del Soto controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Steele is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Del Soto defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Steele should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Steele not allowing Del Soto to control his hands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Del Soto fending off the submission attempt from Steele. Del Soto just looking to survive in the bad position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Steele avoiding Del Soto 's attempts to control his hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Del Soto tries to get the hooks in deep but Steele pushed the leg off. Steele is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Del Soto lands a shot to the head. Del Soto controlling well, preventing Steele from escaping the position.

Steele is breathing heavily. Del Soto wants to take a breather but Steele is having none of it. Steele tries to get to full guard but Del Soto has control of the leg. Steele is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Del Soto pulls his head out easily. Del Soto with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Del Soto gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Steele counters with a nice double leg into guard. Del Soto is trying to keep Steele in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele stands up and waves to Del Soto to follow him. Del Soto drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Del Soto trying to control the position but Steele is working away. Steele manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Del Soto prevents Steele from standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Del Soto stands up and beckons Steele to his feet. Miguel Del Soto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Del Soto has his takedown stuffed and Steele counters with a shoot takedown. Del Soto fights it but they end up in guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Del Soto is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Steele drops back, looking for a kneebar! Del Soto looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Del Soto looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Del Soto! Steele tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Del Soto is trying to stick to Steele's back but Steele is turning into Del Soto. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Del Soto's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Steele. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miguel Del Soto dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Del Soto is desperately trying to improve his position but Steele has a good base and remains in mount. Steele working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Del Soto turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Steele off and cradles Del Soto's limp body as Steele celebrates with his corner.
