The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gilpin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gilpin wants it to stay on the feet. Gilpin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Andreas is fending him off so far but Gilpin persists. Nope, Andreas circles away and we're back to standing. Gilpin tries to clinch up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gilpin is trying to get back to half guard. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Andreas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gilpin as he jumps to the side. Gilpin shoots for a double leg takedown but Andreas sprawls well. He's pushed Gilpin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Andreas with a lazy takedown attempt and Gilpin counters with a head kick. That will keep Andreas thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Andreas lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
