Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey John Gailfus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pasha Pavlenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pasha Pavlenko will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeffrey John Gailfus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pasha Pavlenko! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pavlenko dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Gailfus closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pavlenko did well to prevent Gailfus getting side control. Gailfus is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pavlenko defends it well. Pavlenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pavlenko is trying to stand back up but Gailfus is controlling him
Gailfus is trying to control. Pavlenko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Pavlenko wants to get back to his feet.
Gailfus is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pavlenko tries to kick Gailfus off but Gailfus keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Pavlenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pavlenko connects with a crisp jab. Pavlenko lunges at Gailfus with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gailfus's hand. Pavlenko is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Pavlenko throws a head kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gailfus fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pavlenko sprawls well initially but Gailfus persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Pavlenko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Pavlenko is staying active underneath Gailfus, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gailfus is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pavlenko doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gailfus. Pavlenko works his way to full guard. Good work. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Pavlenko is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Gailfus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gailfus gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Gailfus on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pavlenko. Pavlenko obviously looking to wear him down.
Gailfus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pavlenko as he jumps to the side. Pavlenko scores with a three punch combo!
Pavlenko feints and then cracks Gailfus's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gailfus down. Gailfus takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. A solid leg kick lands there for Pavlenko.
Gailfus steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Pavlenko. That one must have hurt. Gailfus takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Pavlenko is looking to clinch but Gailfus is avoiding it.

Pavlenko turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Pavlenko is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pavlenko feints and then cracks Gailfus's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gailfus down. Gailfus changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pavlenko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Gailfus working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. This has been an exciting period of action! Gailfus swings around for an armbar but Pavlenko sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gailfus's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pavlenko jabs Gailfus right on the nose. Gailfus blinks but takes it well. Pavlenko doesn't manage to clinch there - Gailfus circles away.

Pavlenko lands with a kick to the temple. Gailfus shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Gailfus moves out of range as Pavlenko strikes. Pavlenko wants to clinch. Gailfus slips a straight right by Pavlenko. Pavlenko throws and low kick but Gailfus moves out of range easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gailfus shoots in for a takedown but Pavlenko shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Gailfus closes the distance and pushes Pavlenko back into the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Pavlenko wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Gailfus on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Gailfus has picked Pavlenko up - he's going for a ride! Gailfus dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Gailfus content to control rather than advance. Pavlenko is defending against the submission attempts here by Gailfus.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pavlenko pushes Gailfus off and gets back to his feet. Gailfus takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Gailfus shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pavlenko is trying to defend but Gailfus finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Gailfus is pressing down on Pavlenko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pavlenko is holding on for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeffrey John Gailfus dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Pavlenko connects with a high kick. Gailfus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pavlenko swivels and escapes. Pavlenko fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Pavlenko is looking to slow Gailfus down with leg kicks. Pavlenko lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Pavlenko tries to clinch but fails miserably and Gailfus counters with a single leg into guard. Pavlenko didn't expect that. Pavlenko wants to stand but Gailfus is controlling the position. Pavlenko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gailfus is one step ahead there. Gailfus stands and throws Pavlenko's legs to the side, diving into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gailfus wants to control but Pavlenko is keeping him busy. Gailfus swings around for an armbar but Pavlenko sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gailfus's guard. Pavlenko stops Gailfus from standing up. Pavlenko stands and steps away. Gailfus gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Gailfus shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Gailfus passes Pavlenko's left leg - he's now in half guard. Gailfus looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Pavlenko wants to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Jeffrey John Gailfus showed his dominance in that final round. I think Gailfus has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
