Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricardo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vallo misses with a two punch combination.
Vallo gets caught flat footed, as Gracie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Gracie won't allow Vallo to get back to his feet.
Gracie is looking to work some ground and pound but Vallo has wrist control.
Gracie prevents Vallo from getting back to his feet.
Gracie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Vallo wants to get back to his feet but Gracie is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fighters circling - Vallo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vallo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gracie.
Vallo misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely.
Vallo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gracie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gracie lands with a punch from half guard.
Vallo wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Vallo is breathing heavily.
Gracie throwing shots but Vallo is blocking nicely.
Vallo tries to kick Gracie off but Gracie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vallo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gracie is working to tighten is grip on Vallo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Vallo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gracie is really squeezing tight and eventually Vallo passes out! Gracie breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
