Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pantero Athrox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yodsaenklai Fairtex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yodsaenklai Fairtex will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fairtex gets caught flat footed, as Athrox shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Athrox is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Athrox trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Fairtex had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Athrox defends it easily.

Fairtex is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Athrox is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fairtex has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Athrox is proving hard to escape from.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Athrox looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Athrox is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Fairtex stands and steps away. Athrox gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Fairtex throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Athrox is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Fairtex is surviving well by controlling Athrox's body position as best he can.
Fairtex is trying desperately to improve position.
Athrox postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Fairtex looks a forlorn figure.
Fairtex is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Athrox unloads with some shots from mount but Fairtex bucks and avoids them well.

Athrox pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Athrox is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
