The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerard throws a combination. Lesnar tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Gerard lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Lesnar misses with a straight right.
Gerard could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gerard lands with a right hand.
Lesnar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gerard sprawls well initially but Lesnar persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lesnar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Lesnar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Gerard tries to kick Lesnar off but Lesnar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Gerard on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gerard tries to get out of the position.
Lesnar missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Gerard is trying to stand.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Gerard avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lesnar.
Gerard tries to kick Lesnar off but Lesnar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gerard gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lesnar to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lesnar throws a big right hand that misses.
Lesnar won't allow Gerard to get back to his feet.

Lesnar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gerard's head.
Gerard is trying to stand.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lesnar connects with a nice short shot to Gerard's temple.
It looks like Nori Gerard has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gerard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lesnar on the ground.

Lesnar lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Gerard! More strikes land and this one is all over! Lesnar jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
