The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
James scores with a crisp jab that stopped Bhota in his tracks.
Bhota fails to land the takedown.
Bhota misses the shot to the body.
James misses with a series of wild punches.
James lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
It looks like Piter Bhota has been cut.
James works Bhota's body with a nice hook.
Madison James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bhota throws a hook but James blocks it.
James closes the distance and lands a one-two.
A punch combination from James misses.
James fails to land with a series of punches.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Bhota misses with a takedown attempt - James sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
James is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

James slaps away a takedown attempt from Bhota, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Madison James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bhota walks into a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bhota.

Bhota looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? James is fending him off so far but Bhota persists. Nope, James circles away and we're back to standing.

James lands a nice shot that snaps Bhota's head back.
Bhota changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. James tries to avoid it but Bhota manages to keep hold of a leg and drag James to the ground. James escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bhota has a takedown stuffed.

Bhota moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bhota fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

James lands a left and a right that send Bhota crashing to the mat, dazed. James thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Bhota is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James tries to bum rush Bhota with a series of wild strikes but Bhota uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Madison James dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Piter Bhota's cut.

James comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Bhota takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
James listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Oh Bhota is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Piter Bhota's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
James cracks Bhota with a big right hand and Bhota goes down!
James stands up and waves to Bhota to follow him.
James connects with the punch.

Bhota seems to have got his legs back now.

Horrible takedown by Bhota or perhaps it was just good defense by James which made him look bad.

Bhota shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says James as he avoids it easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
James clobbers Bhota with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Jeez, Piter Bhota's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
