Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Tough Guy. Monroe has chosen Ghost And The Darkness as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe throws a hook but Silva avoids it easily.
Monroe throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Monroe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Monroe shows good takedown defense.

Monroe drops Silva with a beautiful combination! Silva stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Monroe is looking for the KO!

It looks like Antonio Silva has been cut.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Monroe, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Monroe against the cage but Monroe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Monroe lands a left and a right that send Silva crashing to the mat, dazed. Monroe thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Monroe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Silva.

Silva throws a hook but Monroe avoids it easily.
Monroe throws a body punch but Silva moves out of range.
Monroe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva.
Dean Monroe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Monroe.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Monroe, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Monroe against the cage but Monroe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Silva on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Monroe throws a looping overhand right but Silva ducks down to avoid it.
Monroe throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Silva on the side of the head.

and Monroe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Silva thinking.
Monroe swings for the body but Silva moves out of range.

Silva is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Monroe lands a big uppercut and Silva crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Silva looks OK. Monroe waves Silva back to his feet!

Monroe scores a takedown into full mount!

Monroe looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Monroe postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Silva in real trouble here! The ref calls for Silva to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
