Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chael Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sonny Visconti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen takes the fight into the clinch.
Visconti can't get the takedown.
Come on Sonnen - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Sonnen jumps guard.
Visconti postures up.
Visconti trying to control the position from guard on top but Sonnen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sonnen wriggles free and stands up.
Visconti misses with a takedown attempt - Sonnen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sonnen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sonnen lands in his opponent's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sonnen connects with a nice short shot to Visconti's temple.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Visconti can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sonnen is looking to escape.
Poor strikes thrown by Visconti there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Sonnen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Visconti has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sonnen has managed to get both his arms back between Visconti's legs - danger averted.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Sonnen looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Visconti! Submission of the night perhaps?
