Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Georges Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colt Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Colt Cannon acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Pierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Colt Cannon!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A head kick misses from Cannon.
Cannon takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Cannon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pierre but Pierre pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cannon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pierre.
Pierre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cannon moves into the clinch.
Pierre changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cannon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Pierre looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Georges Pierre. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pierre shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cannon manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Pierre has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Pierre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pierre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Pierre trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cannon's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cannon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Cannon moves into the clinch successfully.
Cannon tries to stall but Pierre uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Cannon wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Cannon successfully pulls guard.
Cannon tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Cannon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pierre manages to get himself to full guard.
Cannon trying to control but Pierre is working from the bottom.

Pierre is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Pierre is breathing heavily.
Cannon tries for a takedown. No joy.

Cannon pulls Pierre into guard.
Pierre tries to stand but Cannon is controlling from the bottom.
Pierre won't allow Cannon to sweep him here.

Pierre drops back looking for a leg! Cannon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cannon manages to kick Pierre off! Pierre jumps back into Cannon's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cannon is on top in guard.
Cannon forces his way into half guard.
Pierre wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pierre blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cannon.

Pierre looking for submissions off his back.
Cannon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Pierre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cannon on the ground.
Pierre avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cannon.
Pierre trying to hold on to Cannon's head to control him but Cannon postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colt Cannon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cannon tries to clinch but Pierre moves out of range.

Cannon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pierre to the mat! Pierre manages to get full guard.
Cannon slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Cannon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Pierre's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cannon decides to stand back up. Cannon steps back and let's Pierre get back to his feet.
Pierre lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Cannon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pierre but Pierre pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Pierre throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Pierre moves in looking to clinch but Cannon pushes him off.

Cannon clinches.

Pierre is trying to trip Cannon. He has hold of a leg but Cannon is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Pierre persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Pierre postures up.

Cannon looking to control.
Cannon is pulling down on Pierre's head. It's preventing any offense from Pierre, at least for the moment.
Pierre trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cannon's guard.

Pierre looking to sit in guard and control but Cannon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cannon trying to control the position from guard on top but Pierre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pierre wants to get back to his feet but Cannon passes into half guard.

Cannon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Cannon content to control rather than advance.
Pierre is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cannon stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Pierre to get to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Cannon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Pierre keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pierre blocking the ground and pound.
Cannon manages to capitalize on a mistake by Pierre to take his back!
Pierre holding both Cannon 's hands and preventing any damage.
Cannon controlling the position well here. Pierre rolled but Cannon kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colt Cannon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Cannon gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Cannon drags the fight down to the ground.
Cannon is pulling down on Pierre's head to control his posture.
Cannon preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Pierre stands up over Cannon, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Pierre stands up from Cannon's guard - Pierre perhaps looking for a knockout.
Pierre tries to clinch up but Cannon circles away and keeps his distance.
Cannon doesn't manage to clinch there - Pierre circles away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cannon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cannon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pierre.
Horrible takedown by Pierre or perhaps it was just good defense by Cannon which made him look bad.

Cannon instigates a clinch.

Cannon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cannon moves in looking to clinch but Pierre pushes him off.
Pierre stuffs the takedown attempt from Cannon. Cannon gets slowly back to his feet.
Pierre fails to land the takedown.
Cannon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cannon throws a nice outside leg kick.
Colt Cannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cannon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Georges Pierre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Colt Cannon.
Pierre is looking to clinch but Cannon is avoiding it.
Pierre fails with a takedown attempt.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cannon.
Pierre tries to clinch but Cannon is having none of it.
Pierre fails with the takedown.
Cannon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cannon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Cannon throws a sloppy head kick and Pierre moves out of range easily.

Pierre throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cannon was covering up waiting for the punch and Pierre finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Cannon looking for a sweep. Not yet Cannon, not yet.
Cannon wants to stand up but Pierre is controlling him.
Cannon trying to keep a closed guard but Pierre is proving a slippery customer.

Cannon kicks Pierre off and gets to his feet.
Pierre lands with a good body shot.

Pierre shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cannon as he avoids it easily.
Pierre slaps away a takedown attempt from Cannon, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pierre throws a series of strikes that have Cannon backpedaling.
Pierre leaves Cannon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pierre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cannon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pierre as he avoids it easily.
Pierre keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cannon is looking to clinch.
Georges Pierre has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Colt Cannon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Pierre dodges the punch combination from Cannon.
Nice sprawl there from Pierre as Cannon shoots in.

And that's the end of the fight!
Georges Pierre showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Cannon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
