Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Gibbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Callum Mcvay!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibbs misses with a takedown attempt - Mcvay sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Gibbs counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Mcvay has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gibbs is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mcvay manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

and Gibbs counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mcvay won't be happy with that.

Mcvay is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Gibbs is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

It looks like Gibbs is going to stand back up.

Mcvay is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gibbs pulls his head out easily.
Gibbs slips a nice elbow through Mcvay's hands, connecting with Mcvay's forehead.

Mcvay wants to improve his position but Gibbs is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gibbs is taking a breather. Mcvay says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gibbs seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Gibbs postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mcvay looks a forlorn figure.

and Gibbs counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gibbs is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mcvay defends it well.
Mcvay is staying active underneath Gibbs, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gibbs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mcvay wants to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gibbs in particular looking to stall.

Gibbs is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gibbs perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Gibbs's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Gibbs is stalling here. Mcvay is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gibbs seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mcvay has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gibbs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mcvay keeps working.
Gibbs controls the position.
Mcvay manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Mcvay is pressing down on Gibbs's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gibbs is holding on for now.
