Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Kolling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simon Kolling will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Brooks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Simon Kolling! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kolling throws a hook to the side of Brooks's head but Brooks sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Brooks displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Kolling throws a jab but it's blocked by Brooks. Kolling throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Brooks counters with a takedown into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kolling takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Brooks looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Kolling tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brooks wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Brooks is putting a hurting on Kolling here, landing some big shots from side control. Brooks misses with the ground and pound. Brooks working the ground and pound from side control. Kolling is looking to regain half guard here but Brooks keeps moving and retains side control. Kolling is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Brooks throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Brooks tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kolling's legs. Brooks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kolling is looking to reverse the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Brooks sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kolling is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Brooks thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Brooks connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kolling some visible discomfort.
Kolling gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Brooks looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kolling with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Kolling avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Brooks. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kolling taking some punishment here, with Brooks in his half guard. Brooks thows a huge punch but Kolling dodges it nicely.
Brooks prevents Kolling from improving his position. Brooks is trying for a kimura here. Kolling looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Brooks wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Eddie Brooks!
