The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith scores a takedown into full mount!
Velasquez is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
BOOM! Smith connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Velasquez is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Smith is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Velasquez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Smith is landing with some decent strikes but Velasquez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Smith scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Velasquez?
It looks like Mark Velasquez has been cut.

Smith loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Velasquez scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Smith land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Smith stands and salutes the crowd.
