Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jet Kenichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bay Mai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jet Kenichi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bay Mai's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jet Kenichi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bay Mai! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kenichi shoots in for a double leg but Mai sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kenichi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Mai. Mai obviously looking to wear him down.
Mai gets the takedown into side control. Mai decides to stand back up. Mai steps back and let's Kenichi get back to his feet. Kenichi keeps the fight on the outside. Mai misses with a wild combination.
No joy there for Mai, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mai scores a takedown into full mount! Mai trying to control but he's not successful this time. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mai landing strikes from the mount. Kenichi is desperately trying to improve his position but Mai has a good base and remains in mount. Mai controlling the pace for now. Kenichi flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Mai has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kenichi keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Mai trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mai looking to control and managing it successfully. Kenichi is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kenichi is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mai putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Mai can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kenichi is looking to escape. Kenichi regains half guard. Mai trying to mount his opponent but Kenichi defends it. Kenichi is refusing to be controlled, as Mai sits in half guard. Mai working over Kenichi with some ground and pound. Kenichi looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Mai seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kenichi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Mai lands strikes from half guard. Kenichi tries to get to full guard but Mai has control of the leg. Mai wants to free his trapped foot but Kenichi is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kenichi misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kenichi shoots in and bounces Mai off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mai throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Mai wants to stand up but Kenichi is controlling him. Mai wants to sweep here but Kenichi controlling him for the moment. Mai wriggles free and stands up. Kenichi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Mai counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kenichi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mai is one step ahead there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kenichi striking off his back but it's not causing Mai any problems. Kenichi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mai's guard. Mai wants to stand up but Kenichi is controlling him. Kenichi trying to control the position from guard on top but Mai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kenichi content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Kenichi working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mai's head. Kenichi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mai's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kenichi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Kenichi trying to control but Mai is working from the bottom. Kenichi wants to pass the guard but Mai is keeping the position. Mai not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kenichi passes Mai's left leg - he's now in half guard. Kenichi scoring with strikes to the body and head. Mai trying to control but Kenichi postures up.

Mai swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mai rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kenichi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mai lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Kenichi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Mai pulls Kenichi in to control the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kenichi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kenichi stopping the sweep attempt from Mai.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mai wriggles free and stands up. Mai misses with a series of wild punches.
Kenichi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Mai moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Mai manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kenichi manages to get himself to full guard.
Mai wants to control from the top but Kenichi keeps moving. Mai sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kenichi's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mai slows the pace down in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mai is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Mai lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Kenichi regains half guard. Kenichi wants to get back to full guard. Kenichi manages to get to full guard.
Kenichi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mai is one step ahead there. Mai stands and steps away. Kenichi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kenichi misses with a takedown attempt and Mai counters with a straight right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kenichi scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Kenichi throwing shots but Mai is blocking nicely. Mai wants to control but Kenichi is keeping busy.
Kenichi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mai with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Mai wants to stand back up but Kenichi manages to pass into side control.
Jet Kenichi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mai can't do much from the bottom here. Kenichi advances to full mount. Kenichi lands a big shot there that rocks Mai but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Mai is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Mai is bucking up trying to escape but Kenichi cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Mai is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Kenichi avoids the attempt from Mai to control. Mai is still in real trouble! Can Kenichi finish him? Kenichi wants to control the pace but Mai is squirming around nicely. Mai is trying desperately to improve position. Mai seems to have recovered his senses. Mai is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mai tries to hold on but Kenichi postures up. Kenichi controlling the position easily from mount. Kenichi is in the full mount, landing strikes. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mai working to try and regain half guard.
Mai tries to lock up and control but Kenichi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mai in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Kenichi looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Jet Kenichi dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Kenichi wants to clinch and Mai counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mai. Kenichi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mai uses from the top position. Kenichi looking for a sweep. Not yet Kenichi, not yet. Mai pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kenichi is keeping the position for now. Mai postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kenichi throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Mai stays in close to Kenichi's body and controls the position. Mai won't allow Kenichi to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mai wants to get up but he can't break Kenichi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kenichi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mai takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kenichi misses with a takedown attempt and Mai counters with a three punch combo that has Kenichi backing up. Kenichi nods at Mai to acknowledge the strikes. Kenichi fails with the takedown and Mai counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mai.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kenichi gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Mai is controlling Kenichi's posture. Kenichi passes Mai's left leg - he's now in half guard. Mai trying to control here.
Kenichi scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Mai desperately trying to maintain half guard. Mai wants to get back to full guard. Mai wants to control but Kenichi is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kenichi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mai doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kenichi. Mai moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mai lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kenichi! Mai can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kenichi is looking to escape. Mai scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Mai trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kenichi gets back to half guard. Mai tries to pass to full mount but Kenichi defends it. Kenichi wants to control but Mai is keeping busy and won't allow it. Ground and pound from Mai. Kenichi is looking to improve his position.
Mai takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kenichi is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Mai pulls his head out easily. Mai is tying to control. Kenichi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Mai is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Kenichi reverses the position - he's now on top in Mai's guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kenichi tries for a takedown but Mai sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jet Kenichi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kenichi fails with the takedown and Mai moves into the clinch. Mai stalling in the clinch but Kenichi improves position. Kenichi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mai fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mai tries for a takedown but Kenichi circles away easily and Kenichi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mai won't be happy with that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mai is looking for a sweep. Mai keeping his opponent close. Kenichi trying to control the position but Mai is working away. Kenichi in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Mai avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kenichi. Mai takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Kenichi throws an elbow but Mai slips to the side and avoids it well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mai is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kenichi is controlling him well. Kenichi throwing shots but missing, from side control. Mai is trying to control Kenichi's posture but Kenichi avoids it. Mai is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Jet Kenichi showed his dominance in that final round. I think Kenichi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
