The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenichi shoots in for a double leg but Mai sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kenichi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Mai. Mai obviously looking to wear him down.
Mai gets the takedown into side control.
Mai decides to stand back up. Mai steps back and let's Kenichi get back to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kenichi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mai sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kenichi's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mai is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Mai lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
