And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
dirk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Handel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Handel is trying to improve his position.
dirk is looking to take a break and control but Handel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Handel taking a bit of punishment here - dirk scoring with strikes.
Handel is trying to get back to half guard.
dirk has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Handel misses with a wild body shot.
dirk tries to close the distance and clinch but Handel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Handel throws a body punch but dirk moves out of range.
dirk takes the fight into the clinch.
Handel lands a shoulder strike.

dirk successfully pulls guard.
Handel working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

dirk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are battling for position here. dirk manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Handel looking to improve position, pressing down on dirk's thigh with his hand. dirk seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Handel paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Handel's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! dirk picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
