Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between lamont kevler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and keith steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). kevler comes to the cage accompanied by have a nice day. steele has chosen "Can't Be Touched" as his entrance music. kevler is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, lamont kevler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, keith steele!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
kevler gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
kevler is breathing heavily.
steele missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
steele thows a big elbow that misses.
steele wants to control from the top but kevler keeps moving.
steele thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
steele passes kevler's left leg - he's now in half guard.
steele moves into full mount! kevler won't be happy about that!
steele jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but kevler manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
kevler stops steele from passing to mount.
steele tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
steele wants to control but kevler is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
kevler is looking for a sweep.
kevler parries the strikes from steele easily there. steele is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable kevler to escape.
steele scoring with punches and elbows.
steele advances to mount.
steele controlling from mount.
steele landing shots from mount.
steele with a couple of short strikes.

steele working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. kevler looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by steele! Submission of the night perhaps?
