The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elenko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Elenko shoots in but Hopkins avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Elenko is defended easily by Hopkins.
Elenko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hopkins circles away.
Dawson Hopkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitri Elenko.
Elenko doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Elenko needs to keep his hands up - Hopkins had a free shot at his head there.
Hopkins connects with a crisp jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hopkins looks to land a right hand but Elenko moved out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hopkins lands a glancing blow to the side of Elenko's head.
Hopkins connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Horrible takedown by Elenko or perhaps it was just good defense by Hopkins which made him look bad.
Elenko looks gassed!
Elenko fails in his attempt to clinch.
Elenko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hopkins circles away.
Hopkins dips to his left and cracks Elenko with an uppercut!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hopkins scores with a hook to the body. Elenko takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hopkins tests Elenko's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hopkins fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Dmitri Elenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hopkins scores with a jab to the body.
Elenko walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Hopkins ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Elenko's jaw. Elenko's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Hopkins does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dawson Hopkins!
