Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Mercury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marko Torturo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mercury comes to the cage accompanied by Queen - Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy. Marko Torturo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercury lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Torturo circles away quickly and effectively.
Mercury shoots in for a takedown but Torturo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Torturo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
No joy there for Mercury, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Torturo lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Torturo throws a nice inside leg kick.
Mercury shoots for a double leg takedown but Torturo sprawls well. He's pushed Mercury's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mercury fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Torturo sprawls well initially but Mercury persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mercury is looking to take a break and control but Torturo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mercury lands a nice short elbow.

Torturo regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Mercury.
Torturo wants to sweep here but Mercury controlling him for the moment.
Torturo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Mercury misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Mercury tries to score a power double leg takedown but Torturo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mercury somewhat.
Torturo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Torturo counters with a three punch combo that has Mercury backing up. Mercury nods at Torturo to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Torturo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mercury. That did some damage!
