Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gegard Iam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hannes Steffensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gegard Iam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hannes Steffensen! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steffensen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Iam looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Iam tries to bum rush Steffensen with a series of wild strikes but Steffensen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Iam tries to move into range but Steffensen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Hannes Steffensen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steffensen lands a jab. Iam misses with a jab, cross combination.
Steffensen lands an overhand right. This has been an exciting period of action! A jab lands there for Steffensen. Iam takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Steffensen feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Iam sprawling to the canvas! Iam rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Steffensen finish him?!
Iam is rocked! Steffensen lands with a good body shot. Steffensen lands a big shot that drops Iam! Can he finish him?
Oh Iam is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Steffensen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Steffensen passes easily into side control. Nice work. Iam seems to have got his legs back now. Steffensen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Steffensen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Iam, who protects the arm well. Steffensen throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Steffensen. Steffensen in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Steffensen is working to tighten is grip on Iam's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Iam has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Steffensen is really squeezing tight and eventually Iam passes out! Steffensen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Hannes Steffensen!
