Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Liu Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Kang. Kang slips a jab and a cross from Hero.

Kang is looking to clinch but Hero is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hero clinches with his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round. A battle for position here, against the cage. Kang using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hero has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Hero tries a knee to the head but Kang blocks it.
Hero wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Hero presses Kang against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Hero pulls guard successfully.
Kang won't allow Hero to sweep him here. Kang throwing strikes from guard but Hero blocks nicely. Hero wants to stand and escape but Kang is having none of it. Kang throwing strikes from guard but Hero blocks nicely. Hero keeping moving, preventing Kang from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hero looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Kang wants to control from the top but Hero keeps moving. Kang has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kang tries to stand but Hero is controlling from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kang shoots in for a double leg but Hero sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Liu Kang. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kang misses with a takedown attempt - Hero sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A cross from Hero lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kang fails to land the takedown. Hero rushes Kang and presses him up against the cage. Hero stalling the fight.
Hero breaks from the clinch.
Kang wants to clinch but Hero slips to the side and Hero counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hero. Kang is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hero seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Kang looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hero is one step ahead there. Hero must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hero makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hero tries to free his leg and advance position but Kang is retaining full guard. Hero is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hero being controlled here momentarily. Hero stands up from guard. Let's bang! Kang is breathing heavily. Hero moves into the clinch. Hero is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kang can't fight it off and eventually Hero manages to take the fight to the floor. Kang looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maximus Hero dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hero shoots in and drives through. Kang sprawls well. Kang closes the distance looking to clinch so Hero counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hero postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hero thows a big elbow that misses. Kang wants to sweep here but Hero controlling him for the moment. Kang not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hero content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hero trying to control but Kang is working from the bottom. Kang working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hero doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hero manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hero trying to control but Kang is working from the bottom. Kang looking to control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hero closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hero manages to break the clinch.
Kang tries for a takedown but Hero circles away easily and Hero counters with a solid body kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kang wants to clinch and Hero counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Hero is nestled in close to Kang, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Hero is working for a kimura but Kang is defending it quite comfortably.
Hero is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kang is just riding it out for now. Hero eventually gives up the hold. Hero stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kang to get to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kang wants to clinch but Hero slips to the side and Hero moves into the clinch. Kang can't get the takedown.

A battle for position here, against the cage. Hero drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kang pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kang stuffs the takedown. Liu Kang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maximus Hero.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hero displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kang. Kang closes the distance but Hero moves to the side so Hero counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kang bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hero's guard. Hero seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Hero scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hero drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maximus Hero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Kang tries to clinch and Hero counters with a takedown into side control. Maximus Hero has got the better of the ground game so far. Kang is looking for a sweep. Kang struggling a bit here. Hero lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Hero has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Hero tries for a takedown but Kang sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kang tries to clinch but Hero moves away and Hero counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kang has his foot on Hero's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hero works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hero is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hero cracks Kang with a solid left hand. Kang tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hero stands up from Kang's guard - Hero perhaps looking for a knockout. Kang throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hero's waist but Hero gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kang off to one side. Hero feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hero sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hero missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hero looking to sit in guard and control but Kang gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kang throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hero works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hero wants to sweep but no luck. Kang has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hero is proving hard to escape from. Hero keeping moving, preventing Kang from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kang is looking to stand up but Hero won't let him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hero scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kang is trying to get back to half guard. Hero has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Kang is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hero yanks on the arm and Kang is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hero.
