Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carl Szakadati (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Blind (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Szakadati!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seth Blind!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szakadati tries a head kick but it misses.

Blind moves into the clinch.
Szakadati stops a takedown attempt from Blind.
Szakadati is trying to break the clinch but Blind has him pressed against the cage.
Szakadati is working for takedown but Blind is calmly controlling the position for now.
Szakadati fails to pull guard.

Szakadati ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Szakadati no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Blind trying to control the position from guard on top but Szakadati is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Blind stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Szakadati swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Szakadati escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blind gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Blind slips nicely into half guard.

Blind is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Blind throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Blind is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Blind trying to mount his opponent but Szakadati defends it.
Szakadati tries to roll over but Blind keeps him under control.
Blind winds up and cracks Szakadati with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blind trying to work for an americana but Szakadati has managed to regain full guard.
Blind won't allow Szakadati to sweep him here.

Blind is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Szakadati is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Szakadati has escaped and now he's on top!
Blind looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Blind looks gassed!

Szakadati would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Blind is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nice takedown defense from Blind. No joy for Szakadati on that attempt.

Szakadati is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Blind is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Szakadati trying to hold on to Blind's head to control him but Blind postures up.
Szakadati tries to kick Blind off but Blind keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Szakadati tries to roll over but Blind keeps him under control.
Blind is thwarting Szakadati's attempts to control the position.
Blind lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Blind shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Szakadati's guard.
Blind working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Szakadati is trying to keep Blind in close.
Szakadati wants to improve his position but instead Blind has moved into half guard.
Blind not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Blind postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Szakadati to stand up.

Blind closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Blind works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Blind won't allow Szakadati to sweep him here.
Szakadati lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Blind!

Blind is desperately trying to improve his position but Szakadati has a good base and remains in mount.

Szakadati wants to pass the guard but Blind is defending well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Blind tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Szakadati has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Blind is proving hard to escape from.
Blind lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Szakadati!
Szakadati tries to reverse the position but Blind maintains control.
Blind working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Seth Blind has got the better of the ground game so far.
Blind avoids the attempt from Szakadati to control.
Szakadati is trying to reverse the position but instead Blind has taken his back - oops!

Szakadati trying to get back to his feet but Blind is in full control for now.

Blind is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Szakadati defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Szakadati manages to reverse the position and now he's in Blind's guard. Nice work there by Szakadati.
Szakadati working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Blind's head.

Szakadati wants to pass the guard but Blind is keeping the position.

Blind throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Szakadati wants to control from the top but Blind keeps moving.
Blind manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Szakadati takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Szakadati sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Szakadati gets full guard.

Szakadati pushes Blind off and scrambles back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seth Blind showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Szakadati throws a wild body kick that Blind sees coming a mile off.
Blind keeps the fight on the outside.
Seth Blind seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Szakadati darts in trying to clinch

and Blind counters with a shoot takedown. Szakadati fights it but they end up in guard.
Szakadati pulls Blind in close to his closed guard and prevents Blind from doing any damage or advancing position.
Blind trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Blind throws and elbow that misses. Szakadati uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Blind's guard. Nice move by Szakadati!

Szakadati avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Blind manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Blind postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Szakadati looks a forlorn figure.

Blind looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Szakadati tries to lock up and control but Blind gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Szakadati is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Szakadati is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Blind connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Blind scoring with strikes but Szakadati is staying in there.
Blind landing strikes, looking to finish!

Blind has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Szakadati's face.
Szakadati is trying desperately to improve position.
Szakadati is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Szakadati is wriggling around trying to escape.
Szakadati gets back to half guard.
Blind seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Blind seems to be looking for submissions.
Szakadati blocking the ground and pound attempt from Blind.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Szakadati is positioning himself well to prevent Blind advancing to mount.
Blind works his way into side control.
Szakadati tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Blind wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Szakadati seems a little lost for a moment, as Blind dominates the positioning.

Blind tries for a kimura but Szakadati is defending well.
Szakadati is trying to improve his position.
Blind looks up at the clock and then as Szakadati takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Blind smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

And that's the end of the fight!
Seth Blind comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Blind has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
