Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between El Loco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, El Loco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rick Willis!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loco fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Loco shoots in and bounces Willis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Willis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Loco wants to pass the guard but Willis is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Loco passes Willis's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Loco trying to control the action but Willis is working from the bottom.
Loco has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Willis wants to improve his position but Loco is controlling well.
Loco will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Willis is refusing to be controlled, as Loco sits in half guard.
Loco passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Willis!

It looks like Rick Willis has been cut.

Loco goes for an armbar but Willis turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Willis.
Willis tries to free his leg and advance position but Loco is retaining full guard.

Loco trying to keep a closed guard but Willis is proving a slippery customer.

Willis has gone for a leg lock! Loco slips out almost immediately though and dives into Willis's guard.
Loco pushes down on Willis's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Loco throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Willis is staying active underneath Loco, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Loco tries to pass to full mount but Willis defends it.
Loco not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Willis trying to hold on to Loco's head to control him but Loco postures up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Willis manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Loco looking to sit in guard and control but Willis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Willis passes Loco's left leg - he's now in half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Loco trying to hold on to Willis's head to control him but Willis postures up.
Loco is breathing heavily.

Loco looking for submissions off his back.

Willis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Loco has managed to free his arm - good work.

Loco is defending against the submission attempts here by Willis.
Willis trying to control from Loco's half guard. Loco has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

El Loco dominated that round.

Willis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Loco manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Loco keeping moving, preventing Willis from controlling successfully.
Loco avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Loco throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Willis advances to half guard.

Willis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Loco is looking to control Willis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Loco avoid being mounted?

Willis is pressing down on Loco's thigh, looking to free his foot. Loco is holding on for now.
Loco is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Loco is looking to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Willis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Loco wants to control but Willis is keeping busy.
Willis looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Loco closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Willis works his way to full guard. Good work.
Willis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Willis keeping full guard, as Loco tries to pass.
Willis wants to sweep but no luck.
Willis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Loco's guard.
Loco keeping moving, preventing Willis from controlling successfully.
Loco utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Willis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Willis pushes down on Loco's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Willis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Willis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Loco looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Willis stops Loco from getting back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Willis is working for a kimura but Loco is defending it quite comfortably.
Willis trying to control from half guard but Loco is working away.

Willis seems to be working for a kimura but Loco defends the submission attempt.

Willis wants to work for an arm triangle but Loco is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Loco is concentrating on defense, preventing Willis from advancing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rick Willis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Loco throws the kick towards the body but Willis avoids it.
Loco has his takedown stuffed

and Willis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Willis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Loco looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Willis frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Willis avoids the attempt from Loco to control.
Loco has given up his back. Will we see Willis going for some submissions?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Willis throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Willis has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Willis tightening his grip on Loco, looking for the choke.
Loco just trying to survive but Willis is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Willis keeps control of the position as Loco tries to break free.
Rick Willis has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Loco staying busy and making it hard for Willis to control.

Willis looking for the RNC.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Willis is cranking Loco's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Loco! He's tightened the choke and Loco is tapping out!
