Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Timmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trent Timmons!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Timmons is defended easily by Chan.
Chan fails with the takedown.
Timmons dodges the punch combination from Chan.
Timmons is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Timmons steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chan.
Chan tries a head kick but it misses.
Chan misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Timmons gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Chan counters with a good low kick that Timmons was not able to check.
Johnny Chan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trent Timmons.
Chan misses with a low kick.
Timmons bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Chan tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Timmons is able to avoid easily.
Timmons slips a straight right by Chan.
Horrible takedown by Chan or perhaps it was just good defense by Timmons which made him look bad.
Chan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Chan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Chan throws out a loose jab but Timmons uses good head movement to avoid it.
Timmons ducks right into an uppercut from Chan.
Timmons ducks under a wild hook from Chan.
Chan lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Timmons tries to clinch but Chan moves away
and Chan counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Timmons is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Chan tries a head kick but it misses.
Chan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Timmons as he jumps to the side.
Chan is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chan throws a sloppy head kick and Timmons moves out of range easily.
Chan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Timmons counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Timmons trying to control but Chan is working from the bottom.

Timmons drops back looking for a leg! Chan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Chan manages to kick Timmons off! Timmons jumps back into Chan's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Timmons throws a big right hand that misses.

Timmons postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Timmons, into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chan advances to half guard.
Chan trying to control from half guard but Timmons is working away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Chan is looking for a kimura here.
Chan wants to take a breather but Timmons is having none of it.

Chan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Timmons has managed to free his arm - good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Timmons wants to control but Chan is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Chan dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Timmons scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Timmons working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Chan tries to improve position but can't.

Timmons goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Chan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Timmons but great work by Chan.

Chan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Timmons has escaped the position, nice work there.

Chan decides to stand back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Timmons tries to clinch up but Chan circles away and keeps his distance.
Chan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Chan throws a head kick but Timmons moves out of range.
A combination from Chan does no damage.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Timmons.
Chan thumps Timmons with a low kick.
Chan shoots in for a takedown but Timmons shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Chan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Timmons.
Chan fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Timmons closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chan circles away.

Timmons stuffs the takedown.

Timmons drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chan keeping moving, preventing Timmons from controlling successfully.

Timmons is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Timmons is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Chan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Chan has escaped and now he's on top!
Chan wants to stand but Timmons has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Chan looking to sit in guard and control but Timmons gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Chan keeping moving, preventing Timmons from controlling successfully.

Timmons postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Timmons, into his guard.

Chan trying to control the position from guard on top but Timmons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Chan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Timmons manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chan has Timmons in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Johnny Chan will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

The strikes coming from Timmons are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Timmons looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Timmons trying to control the position but Chan is working away.

Timmons is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chan has escaped the position, nice work there.

Timmons postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Chan regains half guard.

Timmons is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Timmons is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chan is just riding it out for now. Timmons eventually gives up the hold.
Chan is not content to let Timmons control the position.
Johnny Chan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Timmons seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Chan has recovered full guard.
Chan pulls Timmons in to control the position.
Timmons looking to sit in guard and control but Chan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Timmons is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chan defends well.
Chan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Trent Timmons has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Johnny Chan.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
