PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vic Mackey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Monson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mackey kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Shield. Peter Monson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monson doesn't manage to clinch there - Mackey circles away.
Mackey shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Monson as he jumps to the side.
Mackey jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A nice inside leg kick there by Monson. That's going to slow Mackey down.
Mackey moves in looking to clinch but Monson pushes him off.

Mackey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Monson tries to avoid it but Mackey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Monson to the ground. Monson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mackey ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Mackey throws out a leg kick but Monson moves out of range and Mackey only half commits.
Vic Mackey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mackey works over Monson's head and body with a nice combination.
Mackey tries to close the distance and clinch but Monson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
