Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Stean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nathan Roberts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Stean!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stean shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Roberts napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Stean thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Roberts is looking for a sweep.
Roberts sneaks back into half guard.
Stean not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Stean is looking to take a break and control but Roberts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Roberts works his way to full guard. Good work.
Stean wants to stand and escape but instead Roberts has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Roberts avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stean has control of Roberts's left arm, preventing Roberts from doing any damage.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Roberts trying to control but Stean is working from the bottom.
Roberts throws a big right hand that misses.

Stean has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Roberts is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stean.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Roberts stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Decent striking displayed by Stean there.
Stean defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Roberts.

Roberts closes the distance and clinches.

Stean breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Roberts counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stean won't be happy with that.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Roberts wants to control for a moment but Stean uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Roberts is looking to take a break and control but Stean is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Roberts takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Roberts is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stean doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Roberts.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stean slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Roberts drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stean dives on top into guard.
Stean working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Stean gets caught flat footed, as Roberts shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Roberts lands a couple of digs.
Roberts is pushing down on Stean's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stean is fighting to maintain full guard but Roberts has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stean moves into full guard.
Stean wants to sweep but no luck.
Stean has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Roberts has passed into side control.
Stean is trying to improve his position.
Stean sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Roberts drops an elbow to the side of Stean's head.
Roberts moves into full mount! Stean won't be happy about that!

Stean is bucking up trying to escape but Roberts cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Roberts postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stean looks a forlorn figure.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Stean makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Stean wants to pass the guard but Roberts is keeping the position.
Stean content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Stean drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Roberts dives on top into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Roberts decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Roberts takes the fight into the clinch.
Roberts trying to control the position but instead, Stean has worked for underhooks and has pushed Roberts into the ropes.

Stean breaks the clinch.
Roberts takes a kick to the side of the head.
Stean tries to clinch but Roberts moves out of range.
An inside leg kick lands from Stean.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Stean.
Stean creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Roberts sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The strikes coming from Stean are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Roberts manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stean's best efforts.

Stean is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Roberts wants to control but Stean is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Stean wants to stand but Roberts has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Stean is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Roberts reverses the position - he's now on top in Stean's guard.
Robertsis looking to pass into half guard but Stean pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Stean is in guard.

Stean wants to stand but Roberts is controlling his posture from full guard.
Stean trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Stean wants to get up but he can't break Roberts's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Stean throwing strikes from guard but Roberts blocks nicely.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stean accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Roberts counters with a single leg into guard. Stean didn't expect that.
Roberts looking to sit in guard and control but Stean gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Roberts scores with a nice shot.
Roberts tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Roberts has an active guard here but Stean has managed to pass into half guard.
Roberts has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stean is working away from the top position though.
Stean is nestled in close to Roberts, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Stean lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Stean landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to John Stean.
I think Roberts has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
