Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Wren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Davi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Alan Wren has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alan Wren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joao Davi!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wren throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Davi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wren throws out the jab.
Wren closes this distance looking for a takedown but Davi circles away.

Davi shoots in and bounces Wren off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wren keeping moving, preventing Davi from controlling successfully.

Davi stands and steps away. Wren gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Davi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wren is looking to stand up but Davi isn't so interested in that idea.
Davi wants to control from the top but Wren keeps moving.
Davi tries to free his leg and advance position but Wren is retaining full guard.

Wren manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Wren misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davi bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Davi is keen to just control but Wren is a slippery customer.
Wren tries to get to full guard but Davi has control of the leg.
Wren is breathing heavily.
Davi passes to side control.
Wren is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Davi decides to stand back up. Davi steps back and let's Wren get back to his feet.
Wren bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Davi's head.
No joy there for Wren, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wren throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Davi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Davi lands in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wren tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A combination from Wren does no damage.
Davi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Wren throws a nice looking combination but Davi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Davi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Davi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

I looks like Davi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Wren throws a right hand that Davi ducks under and follows up with a left that Davi also avoids with ease.

Davi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wren's guard.
Davi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Joao Davi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Wren moves in looking to clinch but Davi pushes him off.

Wren is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Davi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Davi's back!
Wren is trying to stick to Davi's back but Davi is turning into Wren. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Wren's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Davi.

Joao Davi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Davi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
