Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ross comes into the arena with Killing in the Name of (Remix) blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, John Locke!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Locke looks for a takedown but Ross sprawls well.

Ross closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ross prevents Locke from escaping the position.
Ross scores with a couple of short elbows.
Ross lands a few punches from side control.
Ross working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Locke can't do much from the bottom here.
Ross cracks Locke with a big elbow.

Ross is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Locke has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ross has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ross tries to advance to mount but can't.
Ross working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Locke is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ross is controlling him well.
Locke is trying to control Ross's posture but Ross avoids it.

Ross wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Locke, who protects the arm well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Locke is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ross asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Ross in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Locke is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Stan Ross!
