The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chelios looks to throw the jab but Kaio is out of range.

Kaio swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Chelios blocks a head kick by Kaio.
Chelios looks to land a combination but Kaio avoids it well.
Adilson Kaio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chelios throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kaio stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kaio is breathing heavily.
Chelios drops Kaio with a right and a left! Chelios comes rushing in but Kaio regains his composure and manages to keep Chelios in guard.

It looks like Adilson Kaio has been cut.
Chelios would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kaio holds on and takes a little breather.
Chelios tries to stand but Kaio is controlling from the bottom.
Kaio bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chelios's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kaio is standing up over Chelios. Chelios looks to escape but Kaio dives into side control.
Kaio takes a little break here. Chelios wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Chelios tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Kaio tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kaio won't let Chelios get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Chelios really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kaio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chelios is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Kaio has taken his back!

Kaio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chelios paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Chelios. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Chelios lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kaio circles away quickly and effectively.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Horrible takedown by Kaio or perhaps it was just good defense by Chelios which made him look bad.

Chev Chelios comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Chelios has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
