Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Udarchenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Taratarov! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taratarov fails with the takedown. Udarchenko leaves Taratarov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Udarchenko fails with the takedown. Taratarov with a poor takedown and Udarchenko counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Taratarov's guard now. Ivan Udarchenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Taratarov. Udarchenko trying to control but Taratarov is working from the bottom. Udarchenko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Udarchenko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Udarchenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Taratarov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Udarchenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Taratarov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Udarchenko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Taratarov is looking to stand up but Udarchenko isn't so interested in that idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Udarchenko drops back for a leg! Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Taratarov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Taratarov slips a nice elbow through Udarchenko's hands, connecting with Udarchenko's forehead. Taratarov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Udarchenko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Oleg Taratarov will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taratarov connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Udarchenko some visible discomfort.

Udarchenko is working to avoid the ground and pound but Taratarov connects with a decent elbow. Udarchenko is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Taratarov off and has taken his back! Oleg Taratarov has got the better of the ground game so far. Udarchenko has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Udarchenko is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Taratarov defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Taratarov defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Udarchenko's arms.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Udarchenko tightening his grip on Taratarov, looking for the choke.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Udarchenko is persistently looking for the submission but Taratarov is defending it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oleg Taratarov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Taratarov misses with a takedown and Udarchenko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Taratarov's guard. Udarchenko preventing the sweep. Udarchenko postures up.

Not yet Taratarov, not yet. Taratarov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Udarchenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Udarchenko drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Udarchenko seems to have locked his on tight now - Taratarov screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Udarchenko, as he picks up the win!
