Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrei Kalashnikov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Boitcov! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kalashnikov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boitcov tries to avoid it but Kalashnikov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boitcov to the ground. Boitcov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kalashnikov. Alexander Boitcov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kalashnikov shoots in but Boitcov avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrei Kalashnikov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kalashnikov clinches with his opponent.

Boitcov misses with a knee to the head. Boitcov misses with a knee to the head. Boitcov is pressed up against the cage. Kalashnikov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Boitcov down to the mat. Boitcov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Boitcov misses with a head kick.
Kalashnikov feints and as Boitcov raises his hands in defense, Kalashnikov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kalashnikov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kalashnikov passes Boitcov's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Kalashnikov in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Boitcov tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kalashnikov!
