Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Bond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Santana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Walter Bond! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santana defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bond. Santana shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bond's guard. Santana working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bond seems keen to control Santana's posture. Santana slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Santana wants to control but Bond is keeping him busy. Bond tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Santana wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Santana looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Bond tries to buck Santana off but Santana is having none of it. Bond is trying to control Santana's posture but Santana avoids it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bond is not content to let Santana control the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Santana wants to clinch. Bond fails with the takedown and Santana counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Bond looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Bond is looking to control Santana's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bond avoid being mounted? Bond looks gassed! Santana throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Santana lands strikes from half guard. Bond looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bond is looking for a sweep. Santana is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Santana is nestled in close to Bond, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Santana escapes and gets back to his feet. Santana pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Santana takes the fight into the clinch. Santana has Bond pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Santana pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bond tumbling to the mat - Santana dives into Bond's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Santana connects with a couple of short punches. Bond working a defensive guard but Santana passes into half guard.
Santana lands with a punch from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bond on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Bond has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Santana is working away from the top position though. Ground and pound from Santana. Bond wants to get back to full guard but Santana has passed into side control. Santana looking to finish Bond with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bond! Santana has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bond is looking to improve his position but Santana isn't that keen on the idea. Santana pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. A nice elbow there by Santana. Bond is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Santana is standing up, even though he is in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bond tries to close the distance and clinch up but Santana swats him away and circles back towards the center. Santana closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Santana's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Bond has his takedown stuffed and Santana moves into the clinch. Lucas Santana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walter Bond. Bond tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Santana just stands there and leans against the cage. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Santana escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Santana lands a head kick. Bond smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Bond fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Santana closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Santana lands in his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lucas Santana dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Santana shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bond counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Santana's guard now. Bond sitting in guard, not really doing much. Bond working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Santana's head. Bond throwing strikes from guard but Santana blocks nicely. Bond is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bond trying to control but Santana is working from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Santana working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santana uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Bond doesn't succeed with the takedown and Santana moves into the clinch. Bond tries to pull guard but Santana won't allow it.
Santana breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bond misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lucas Santana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walter Bond. Santana gets a takedown into half guard. Lucas Santana overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Santana wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bond keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bond looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Bond looking for submissions off his back. Bond wants to control but Santana is keeping busy and won't allow it. Santana is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bond drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santana preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Santana avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bond trying to control but Santana is working from the bottom. Bond not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Bond trying to control the position from guard on top but Santana is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bond must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bond scoring with punches to the head and body. Bond postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Bond stopping the sweep attempt from Santana.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bond shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Santana's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bond drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Santana dives on top into guard. Santana decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Santana lands a nice looking kick to the body. Bond takes a step back to recover. Bond gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Santana counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bond's guard now. This has been an exciting period of action! Santana content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Santana looking to pass the guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bond throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lucas Santana will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Santana tries to clinch but Bond is having none of it. Bond shoots for a double leg takedown but Santana sprawls well. He's pushed Bond's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bond fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Lucas Santana is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bond gets caught flat footed, as Santana shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Santana working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Santana gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Bond moves in looking to clinch but Santana pushes him off. Bond tries for a takedown but Santana circles away easily and Santana counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Santana. Lucas Santana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walter Bond. Bond fails to pull guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Santana ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Santana no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Santana controls Bond momentarily but Bond frees himself. Bond postures up in Santana's guard and throws a big left but Santana blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bond wants to pass the guard but Santana is keeping the position. Santana has a closed guard, preventing Bond from standing up. Bond throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Santana working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bond doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bond manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Santana wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Santana can't keep his opponent in guard - Bond advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Santana is trying to maintain the position but Bond is very close to passing his half guard. Santana is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Bond is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Santana is just riding it out for now. Bond eventually gives up the hold. Bond is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bond is looking to take a break and control but Santana is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Santana trying to hold on to Bond's head to control him but Bond postures up.
Santana wants to improve his position but Bond is controlling well.
Santana has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bond is working away from the top position though.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bond clinches with his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Santana gets a trip takedown into half guard. Santana is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Santana thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bond's head. Santana throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Lucas Santana is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bond is refusing to be controlled, as Santana sits in half guard. Walter Bond has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Lucas Santana showed his dominance in that final round. Well Santana has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
