Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lightning shoots in but Ribeiro avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lightning drives through and clinches with Ribeiro against the cage.
Ribeiro lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lightning backwards.
Ribeiro stops a takedown attempt from Lightning.
Lightning fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jack Ribeiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slash Lightning.
Ribeiro misses with the head strike.
Lightning breaks from the clinch.
Ribeiro tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Lightning moves into the clinch.
Lightning blocks an uppercut.
Lightning has Ribeiro pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ribeiro manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Lightning lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ribeiro or not.

Slash Lightning seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lightning shoots for a double leg takedown but Ribeiro sprawls well. He's pushed Lightning's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lightning throws a head kick but Ribeiro moves out of range.
Ribeiro closes the distance but Lightning moves to the side
and Lightning counters with a straight right hand.

Ribeiro wants to clinch but Lightning slips to the side
and Lightning counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Lightning wants to control but Ribeiro is keeping him busy.
Ribeiro manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Lightning throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ribeiro's waist but Ribeiro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lightning off to one side.

Ribeiro has a couple of punches blocked by Lightning.

Lightning tries to throw a body punch but Ribeiro avoids it by throwing Lightning back against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Ribeiro fails to land.
Ribeiro scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Lightning blocking some punches.
Ribeiro lands with a left to the head.
Lightning breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lightning shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ribeiro pinned against the cage. Ribeiro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Horrible takedown by Lightning or perhaps it was just good defense by Ribeiro which made him look bad.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ribeiro tries to clinch but Lightning moves away
and Lightning counters with a head kick. That will keep Ribeiro thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Ribeiro counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lightning!

Slash Lightning dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Ribeiro counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ribeiro.
Ribeiro throws a punch but it's blocked by Lightning.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Ribeiro.
Lightning pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lightning shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ribeiro is trying to defend but Lightning finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lightning slips a nice elbow through Ribeiro's hands, connecting with Ribeiro's forehead.
Lightning decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Lightning darts in trying to clinch
and Ribeiro counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lightning is defended easily by Ribeiro.
Lightning is breathing heavily.
A slapping leg kick lands for Lightning.
Lightning shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Lightning postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ribeiro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lightning is controlling him.
Lightning working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Lightning wants to control from the top but Ribeiro keeps moving.
Lightning not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ribeiro wants to stand and escape but Lightning is having none of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ribeiro keeping full guard, as Lightning tries to pass.
Lightning has gone for a leg lock! Ribeiro slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lightning's guard.
Lightning wants to stand but Ribeiro is controlling the position.

A close second round but Slash Lightning will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Lightning has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Ribeiro fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lightning avoids it really well and circles away.
Lightning keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Lightning is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lightning has closed the distance and engaged Ribeiro in a clinch.
Lightning turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lightning manages to end up in side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Ribeiro is not content to let Lightning control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lightning has hold of Ribeiro's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Ribeiro tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Lightning cranks the arm and Ribeiro screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ribeiro, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Slash Lightning!
