Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lil Scrappy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diego Sanchez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lil Scrappy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scrappy closes the distance and clinches.
Sanchez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Scrappy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Sanchez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Scrappy closes the distance and pushes Sanchez back into the cage.
Sanchez slowing the pace effectively.

Scrappy lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Sanchez wants to get back to full guard.
Sanchez wants to control but Scrappy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Scrappy content to control rather than advance.
Scrappy trying to mount his opponent but Sanchez defends it.
Scrappy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Sanchez wants to sweep but Scrappy has passed to side control!
Scrappy tries to move into full mount but can't pass Sanchez's legs.
Sanchez gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Scrappy is working for a guillotine from mount but Sanchez frees his head quite easily.
Sanchez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Scrappy fails to advance to Sanchez's back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Scrappy looking to control but Sanchez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Scrappy content just to control the position here.
Scrappy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sanchez is looking to escape.

Scrappy working for a submission but Sanchez is keeping him at bay.

Scrappy looking for a guillotine from mount but Sanchez is having none of it.
Scrappy controlling the pace for now.
Scrappy avoids the attempt from Sanchez to control.
Sanchez wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanchez tries to lock up and control but Scrappy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Sanchez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Scrappy trying to control but Sanchez is having none of it.
Scrappy is trying to take his opponent's back.
Sanchez is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sanchez wants to hold on but Scrappy pushes him away.

Scrappy is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sanchez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sanchez shrugs it off.
Sanchez is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sanchez tries to lock up and control but Scrappy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lil Scrappy dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Scrappy clinches up against the cage.
Sanchez changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Scrappy fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lil Scrappy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sanchez closes the distance but Scrappy moves to the side

and Scrappy counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sanchez!
Scrappy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sanchez is looking to escape.
Scrappy content just to control the position here.
Scrappy moves to take his opponent's back.
Scrappy is trying to stick to Sanchez's back but Sanchez is turning into Scrappy. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Scrappy's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sanchez.
Scrappy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Scrappy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sanchez thows a big elbow that misses.
Sanchez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Scrappy is keeping the position for now.
Sanchez trying to control but Scrappy is working from the bottom.
Sanchez is breathing heavily.
Sanchez throws a big right hand that misses.
Sanchez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sanchez with a flurry of punches that miss.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sanchez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Scrappy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sanchez is looking for a sweep.
Scrappy passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Sanchez!
Sanchez tries to reverse the position but Scrappy maintains control.
Scrappy controlling from the full mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sanchez wants to hold on but Scrappy pushes him away.
Sanchez is looking to improve his position but Scrappy isn't that keen on the idea.
Sanchez is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Scrappy has taken his back.
Scrappy has good solid back control here.

Scrappy is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Sanchez defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Scrappy just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Sanchez rolls, trying to escape but Scrappy keeps control of the position.
What can Sanchez do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Scrappy has his arm under Sanchez's chin here. Game over son! Scrappy squeezes tightly and Sanchez is forced to tap out!
