PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Pingshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshiaki Urai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pingshaw kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Heart of a Champion. Urai has chosen Japan Will Kick Your Ass as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Yoshiaki Urai acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anthony Pingshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshiaki Urai!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Urai takes the fight into the clinch.
Pingshaw working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Urai tries for a takedown. No joy.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Pingshaw creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Urai tries to pull guard but Pingshaw won't allow it.

Pingshaw moves in looking to clinch but Urai pushes him off.

Urai is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pingshaw is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pingshaw has escaped and now he's on top!

Urai avoids the attempt from Pingshaw to control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Urai prevents Pingshaw from getting the reversal.

Urai looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Urai wants to control the pace but Pingshaw is squirming around nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Anthony Pingshaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pingshaw misses with a takedown attempt - Urai sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Urai is pressed up against the ropes. Pingshaw has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Urai down to the mat. Urai avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Pingshaw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Urai swivels though and keeps the full guard.
